The Archbishop’s Delegate for Culture, together with co-producer and Artistic Director Annalisa Schembri, proudly organised the return of the Rooftop Series in 2025 as a multidisciplinary Summer Festival unfolding atop the Catholic Institute in Floriana, away from the bustling heart of the Maltese capital.
From July to September 2025, audiences were invited to experience six unique, unforgettable evenings of live music, theatre, dance and literature in an intimate open-air setting. From Claire Tonna and ILSNA, to the fiery rhythms of Puerto Flamenco and classical music by the Malta Youth Orchestra, each night offered a unique experience.
What began as a test run of three sold-out events in 2024 has now blossomed into an annual Summer Festival. The 2025 lineup brought together emerging and established artists from Malta and beyond — from flamenco to spoken word, live music and string formations, unreleased Music in Maltese and a few other surprises.
Rooted in values of intercultural exchange, interdisciplinary practice, international reach and community engagement, the Rooftop Series Summer Festival transforms the Catholic Institute into a beacon of art and dialogue, where all eyes will be on art against the backdrop of Valletta’s skyline.
